Do I need a negative PCR certificate to board?

Passengers travelling to the Kingdom of Bahrain as their final destination

Vaccinated and unvaccinated passengers aged 6 years and above boarding from the United States, United Kingdom, European Union, Switzerland, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Korea, Japan, Singapore or Israel:

  • Negative COVID-19 PCR test certificate taken 72 hours prior to departure

Vaccinated and unvaccinated passengers aged 6 years and above boarding from all other territories:

  • Negative COVID-19 PCR test certificate with a QR code taken 72 hours prior to departure

Additional information on testing requirements upon landing into the Kingdom of Bahrain are detailed below in the ‘Flying into Bahrain?’ section and www.healthalert.gov.bh

 

Passengers transiting in Singapore on Gulf Air (GF165 & GF166 only) are required to present pre departure PCR  test taken within 48hrs of departure regardless of their vaccination status. All travellers must submit the electronic Health Declaration before they enter Singapore using SG Arrival Card e-services

 

Passengers transiting through Bahrain International Airport

Passengers transiting through Bahrain International Airport will need to meet the requirements of their final destination by visiting the IATA Travel Centre before travelling and are not required to provide a pre-boarding negative PCR certificate.

 

Passengers may need to refer back to the authorities of their final destination to ensure that their documents will be accepted at the borders and that they meet the language requirements.

Flying into Bahrain ?

All passengers travelling to Bahrain must hold a negative COVID‑19 RT‑PCR test certificate for a test taken no more than 72 hours before departure with a QR code. The printed or digital certificate must be a Reverse Transcription‑Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT‑PCR) test in English by an official authorised facility. Other test certificates including antibody tests, rapid antigen tests and home testing kits are not accepted

 

Immigration rules for passengers entering the Kingdom of Bahrain

  • Bahrain is open for tourism and visas on arrival is available for citizens of eligible countries. Determine your eligibility or obtain an eVisa prior to your departure by visiting this link
  • In compliance with the Air Bubble agreement with the Republic of India, boarding from India on Gulf Air flights is restricted to Bahraini citizens and residents as well as Indian passport holders with valid Bahraini residency visas.

 

Entry into Bahrain

  • All passengers must download the official "BeAware Bahrain" App prior to departure.
  • All passengers are required to undergo a PCR test upon arrival and are subject to quarantine depending on their vaccination status and the recognition of their vaccine certification; passengers that are below 6 years are exempt from arrival tests.

 

Vaccinated passengers with a valid vaccination or recovery certificate issued from Bahrain or a valid vaccination or recovery certificate within 8 months of a positive result from Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Oman, Greece, Cyprus, Hungary, Jordan, Israel, Seychelles, passengers vaccinated in countries that are eligible to obtain an on-arrival visa and fully vaccinated passengers with an approved vaccine by the World Health Organization and a certificate with a QR code

  • Passengers vaccinated in the Kingdom of Bahrain will need to have a ‘Green Shield’ in order to be exempted from the mandatory 7-day quarantine.
  • Fully vaccinated passengers who have exceeded 14 days from their second COVID-19 vaccine dose in the above-mentioned countries will be provided with a vaccination certificate card proving the acceptance of their vaccination status and will be exempted from the mandatory 7-day quarantine.
  • Fully vaccinated passengers who have exceeded 14 days from their second COVID-19 vaccine dose from the above-mentioned countries must undergo a PCR test at their own expense upon arrival into Bahrain and remain in self-isolation until the result of the PCR test is determined; passengers that are below 6 years are exempt from arrival tests.
  • The arrival test is subject to a BHD 12 fee (approximately USD$ 32), to be paid prior to arrival through the official " BeAware Bahrain" App, the Bahrain eGovernment Portal, or upon arrival at a designated kiosk at the airport, where payment by cash or card is accepted.

Non-vaccinated passengers

  • Passengers aged 12 years and above with the Kingdom of Bahrain as their final destination and arriving will need to quarantine for 7days.
  • Passengers must undergo a PCR test at their own expense upon arrival; passengers that are below 6 years are exempt from arrival tests.
  • The arrival test is subject to a BHD 12 fee (approximately USD$ 32), to be paid prior to arrival through the official " BeAware Bahrain" App, the Bahrain eGovernment Portal, or upon arrival at a designated kiosk at the airport, where payment by cash or card is accepted.

Due to travel restrictions at several airports, unaccompanied minors will not be able to board our flights. Sky Nanny service currently unavailable.

 

Passengers with medical conditions

 

Medical passengers who are unable to wear face mask/covering for prolonged periods due to an existing medical condition will have to obtain clearance from Gulf Air prior to travelling by completing the “Carriage of Medical Passengers” form and medical clearance will need to be verified by our ground staff during check in

Medical passengers with an existing medical condition and medical clearance will still be required to wear a face mask/covering at the following periods to reduce exposure:

  • When entering airport terminal buildings and when passing through common areas inside the terminal building
  • Check in and during boarding but  may remove their face mask/covering at short intervals to refresh
  • On board the aircraft, medical passengers may remove their face mask/covering after they are seated but must be worn if they leave their seat to use the lavatory and when they are disembarking the aircraft

No Fees | Unlimited Changes*

  • Applicable to tickets issued from 01 January 2020 to 28 February 2022 regardless of travel date
  • Unlimited changes without any change fees for future departure dates to any Gulf Air destination.
  • Difference in fares may apply for the new departure dates
  • No refund if fare on new departure date is lower
  • Applicable to all fare types
  • Changes can be made by contacting the Gulf Air Contact Centre. Passengers who have made their bookings through a travel agent are advised to get in touch with the agents

Changing your flight

We are allowing all our passengers to get unlimited changes without any change fees; if you have already booked you may change your booking or cancel your booking at no extra charge and save the travel credit for your next trip.

Who is eligible?

All passengers, regardless of the ticket fare type and regardless of the date of travel

What happens if there is a fare difference for the new date of travel?

Difference in ticket fares may apply for the new departure date. Whilst Gulf Air will not apply any change fees, you will be required to pay the difference if the fare for the new departure date is higher than the fare previously booked. Gulf Air will not offer any refund if the fare for the new departure date is lower than the fare previously booked

How can I change my flight date?

If you have booked your ticket directly with us, you can change the date of your flight by contacting the Gulf Air Contact Centre. If you have booked your ticket through a travel agent, you will need to contact them to make changes to your booking, subject to the above conditions.   

Can I get a refund instead?

If you do not wish to change your travel dates as set out above you can request a refund by contacting the Gulf Air Contact Centre. If you have booked your ticket through a travel agent, you will need to contact them to request a refund. Terms and conditions apply
