What is the difference between current miles and total miles on my statement?
The term total miles refers to the miles which you have earned since you first joined the Gulf Air Falconflyer programme. You may have already redeemed some of these miles for flights or upgrades. The term current miles refers to the miles which are available for free flight or upgrade redemptions.
Is it miles or loyalty points which count towards being upgraded to a higher tier?
It’s loyalty points, not miles, which count towards being upgraded to a higher tier of membership. Every flight, at any fare (with the exception of travel industry discounted fares) is credited with loyalty points and they are awarded based on class and zone. Detailed information on the number of loyalty points earned by zone and class of travel, as well as the number of loyalty points needed to upgrade to a higher tier, is all detailed in your members guide.
Can I earn loyalty points when flying on partner airlines?
No, you cannot earn loyalty points by flying on partner airlines. Loyalty points are awarded based on your loyalty to Gulf Air which means they can only be earned by flying with us. However, loyalty points are awarded for codeshare flights, the number of points you earn depends on the class you travel in and the routes you fly on.
Are family members eligible for benefits and privileges?
Family members are not eligible for benefits and privileges of the Gulf Air Falconflyer programme. These are reserved for the head of the account. However, family members as young as two can join the Falconflyer programme in their own right and earn miles at the standard rate and enjoy all the benefits of membership; a more favourable option if they fly frequently throughout the year.
Will family members earn miles when flying on partner airlines?
No, family members will not earn miles on partner airlines, they can only earn miles by travelling on Gulf Air. However, family members as young as two can join the Falconflyer programme in their own right and earn miles at the standard rate.
What happens if my flight activity does not appear on my statement even though my membership number has been quoted at reservation and my card presented at check in?
The tracking of member flight activity is automated, provided you quote your membership number at booking and present your card at check-in. However you are advised to check your statement regularly and if any activity does not appear you will need to make a retroactive claim. Just log into the member area of the website and you will find a complete section where you can claim miles for travel with Gulf Air, with partners and on behalf of your family members.
