Bahraini Salman Sayyar brings with him 27 years' wealth of experience, having worked extensively in the accounting and auditing field. Joining Gulf Air in November 2008, Salman, as Director of Internal Audit, plays a key role in the organization’s strategic function. He is actively moving forward to ensure the application of best auditing practices within the Company and implementation of value-added recommendations.
Salman, in addition to holding an accounting degree, is a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA). Adding to his US credentials Salman also holds a Certificate Risk & Information System Control (CRISC), a Certified Governance of Enterprise IT (CGEIT) and a Certified Risk Management Assurance (CRMA) certification. Prior to joining Gulf Air, Salman worked for Bahrain Telecommunications Company in the Internal Audit Department for seventeen years and with Bahrain International Circuit for about three years as Chief Internal Auditor.
Salman reports directly to the Audit Committee of the Gulf Air Board of Directors with a dotted line reporting to the Acting Chief Executive Officer.
