A qualified finance professional with over 13 years experience in the commercial airline business, Sahar has demonstrated her strong technical skills and her ability to influence, negotiate and the credibility to build strong cross–functional relationships that has seen her grow through the ranks.
After spending three years at Grindlays Bank’s customer service department, Sahar joined Gulf Air in 1998 as the Audit Manager where she developed a system of internal controls that proved to be extremely beneficial for investigations and fraud detection within the company. When promoted to become the Head of Divisional Controller of Operations Division she played a crucial role in the financial planning and analysis of various programs that were emphasized in the division’s budget. She became the Director of Financial Control in April 2009 and was appointed Acting Chief Financial Officer in May 2010.
An accounting graduate, Sahar earned her Executive MBA degree from the University of Bahrain with a distinction for which she was honored by His Highness Prince Khalifa Bin Salman Al Khalifa, the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Bahrain. She is also a Certified International Project Manager and a Certified Fraud Examiner, and has attended several professional training programmes with IATA and other international organizations.
