Gulf Air Marks International Labor Day by Honoring Employees

Gulf Air, the national carrier of Bahrain, and the National Labor Union of Gulf Air jointly celebrated International Labor Day by honoring some of the airline’s distinguished employees in a dedicated ceremony at the airline’s headquarters in Muharraq today.

Recognizing current and past members of the Gulf Air workforce, the airline’s Acting Chief Executive Officer Mr. Maher Salman AlMusallam, alongside Mr. Ahmed Isa Al Kuwaiti, Chairman of the National Labor Union of Gulf Air, celebrated the achievements and contributions of existing Gulf Air staff members and retired employees.

Mr. Maher Salman AlMusallam, Gulf Air’s Acting Chief Executive Officer commented “2013 was a challenging year, yet Gulf Air has emerged a stronger organization and airline today – and this is thanks to every member of the Gulf Air family. International Labor Day is a fitting time to celebrate our team members, paying tribute to the national carrier’s workforce and to their significant contribution to not only the airline but, as a result, to the Kingdom’s economic development. The ongoing commitment and hard work of our team is driving Bahrain’s national carrier towards long term sustainability.”

This is just one opportunity to thank a few members of our team and I do not doubt there will be more opportunities in the future to thank and celebrate other distinguished members of the airline’s workforce,” concluded Mr. AlMusallam.

Mr. Ahmed Isa Al Kuwaiti, Chairman of the National Labor Union of Gulf Air commented “On behalf of the National Labour Union of Gulf Air I would like to thank the airline’s Board of Directors and executive management for their ongoing efforts as Gulf Air emerges from a challenging period. International Labour Day is an opportunity to reiterate our loyalty to Gulf Air and we wish the airline’s entire workforce continued success in their endeavors. We are committed, alongside our national carrier, to celebrating Gulf Air’s workforce and recognizing their accomplishments.”

The national carrier awarded current and retired employees with Certificates of Appreciation and a range of complementary gifts from different partners including The Dragon Hotel and Resort, located in Amwaj Islands.
