Bahrain’s national carrier, Gulf Air, in collaboration with The Ministry of Health, Gulf Air Medical Clinic and the National Labor Union of Gulf Air recently hosted an anti-smoking roadshow, with a lecture by Dr. Kathem Jaffar Al Halwachi, Smoking Cessation Program Coordinator, on the dangers of smoking and information on how to quit.
Dr. Kathem Jaffar Al Halwachi delivered a presentation to Gulf Air staff on the dangers of smoking and how best to kick the habit. The roadshow also included a host of medical practitioners on hand to test employees for various respiratory and smoking-related conditions and advise them on what methods are best suited for them to quit smoking.
Last month, Gulf Air launched a Smoking Cessation Programme though the airline’s medical clinic to further support those individuals who wish to quit smoking and raise awareness of its dangers.
